The Miniature Schnauzer, the smallest of the three Schnauzer breeds, is generally a healthy, long-lived, and low-shedding dog. Add in an outgoing personality, smaller size, and really good looks, and you have got an ideal family dog. Its bushy beard and eyebrows give it a charming, human-like expression. Bred to be an all-around farm dog and ratter, they are tough and muscular as well as fearless, without being aggressive. The Miniature Schnauzers are a bright, friendly, trainable companion, and yet small enough to adapt to apartment life but tireless enough to patrol acres of farmland. They also generally get along well with other animals and kids.
